Yep, very appropriate. The quote on the cover is certainly apt--"full blooded..." A few drops of it trickling down the neck would add extra interest, don't you think? : )Just funnin' ya!
There are plenty of legends about Anne Boleyn's ghost. She has apparently been spotted around the Tower of London, wailing and moaning and carrying her head in a basket.
One of the few occasions where the headless woman is entirely appropriate! Although maybe she should be lying down. LOL!!
ReplyDeletePity the designer couldn't have squeezed two headless women onto othe cover!
ReplyDeleteYes, the woman could very well be Catherine instead of Anne, couldn't it. Especially with the flowers she's carrying.
ReplyDeleteI love these new covers they are doing on the UK releases. I might order the ones I don't have from Amazon UK just for the covers!
ReplyDeleteVery appropriate!
ReplyDeleteFor once, entirely appropriate. Blood-red roses, too.

ReplyDeleteSo, the cover could have been worse.
The colour of the roses is spot on, but they're entirely the wrong type for the times.
ReplyDeleteIt's a curse sometimes, being a writer/rosarian/rose historian!
I watched Jane Eyre again last night, and her wedding bouquet was extremely annoying to me.
But this is a pretty book cover.
