I just did a post about Françoise here. François's second mistress, Anne d'Heilly, Madame d'Etampes, was of noble but not royal blood.Julianne Douglashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10190332417986785920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19307003.post-789671494030289042010-02-27T01:02:23.144-06:002010-02-27T01:02:23.144-06:00This comment has been removed by the author.Julianne Douglashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10190332417986785920noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19307003.post-63903512913591448692010-02-25T11:21:03.305-06:002010-02-25T11:21:03.305-06:00Thanks for the link. I've read stories about Catherine of Valois before and have become fascinated by her and Owen Tudor. Based on this information, and the fact that it was compared to Sharon Kay Penman's "Here be Dragons" (another of my all time favorite authors), I'm going to go ahead and order it! I'll let you know how it is once I'm done with it.Nadine, Chewy and Lilibellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07244760839778594485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19307003.post-73452098985621757252010-02-25T10:34:43.402-06:002010-02-25T10:34:43.402-06:00I haven't read it, and don't own a copy, b...I haven't read it, and don't own a copy, but I've had it on my wish list for a while (just based on the subject). The publisher is a small Welsh press, and I found that their site is selling it for £1 plus postage, if that's helpful. There's another review posted there, and the book looks heavy on the devil worship/witchcraft/supernatural angle. From this, I expect it isn't a book for me, but if you end up getting a copy, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts!Sarah Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13340312953393474963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19307003.post-521059075473237122010-02-25T09:16:30.011-06:002010-02-25T09:16:30.011-06:00Sarah, have you ever read "The Lily and the D...Sarah, have you ever read "The Lily and the Dragon" by Dedwydd Jones? This is another out of print book that I stumbled upon on Amazon. Unfortunately, on the Amazon US there are no reviews for it and on the Amazon UK site there's just 1 review (and that one review rated it good). I usually base what books I buy upon their reviews. Although I can pick this book up for $6.00, I would hate to buy something and have it turn out terrible.Nadine, Chewy and Lilibellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07244760839778594485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19307003.post-21263149909302898942010-02-23T15:55:09.757-06:002010-02-23T15:55:09.757-06:00Hi Nadine, I'm so pleased to hear you're e...Hi Nadine, I'm so pleased to hear you're enjoying it!
