International book pile

Photo of some recent purchases, courtesy of the Book Depot Warehouse in St. Catharine's, Ontario; the BMV on Bloor St in downtown Toronto; Chapters, Toronto; and the Niantic Book Barn in Niantic, Connecticut. Books purchased in the US on left; those from Canada on right. A couple non-historical galleys from BEC are in there too. Click the photo for a detailed view.

We didn't take photos this time at the Book Barn, but I have some on Flickr from our last summertime visit.

  2. That's one I couldn't resist getting. I have many other additions to the TBR pile, but most novels in Canada were so incredibly expensive ($24.95 trade paperbacks are typical) that I couldn't justify buying them in person... not when I can get home, go online with Chapters or Book Depository, and get them with a considerable discount.

  5. I don't know, but this is the first comment I've gotten from you on this post - did you mean the comment you left on the previous one?

  6. Sarah, How did you discover the Niantic Book Barn? Whenever I would visit my dad, I would always be very late because I would get lost in different barns. What a place, right? Good searching. Look at my blog this week, I found a good stack at of all places Goodwill. LOL

  7. I'm originally from Newington and have been going to the Book Barn for years. Now every time we go back and visit, we always make a point of taking a trip to Niantic. They had a ton of great books last time - I didn't take nearly all of them, if you feel the urge to go anytime soon!

Those were some good finds at Goodwill. I wish the charity shops out this way sold books, but they really don't.
